Lyrae Kinchen is a designer event specialist professional, civic leader and volunteer, fundraising developer, beauty consultant and a woman business owner. Presently, she is forming her Non-Profit Fundraising Development Firm in New Orleans whose goal will be to align corporate entities with Non-Profit Organizations to provide services that will educate, inspire and empower its clients through planning and executing events. She also serves on numerous boards and committees in and around the state of Louisiana. Lyrae is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Business Administration and hold a vast amount of certificates and accolades.
Lyrae has benefited from her twenty years in the business administrative/management arena, which has allowed her to gain skills, training and certification in vast areas of business planning and development. Utilizing all of her talents, Lyrae has volunteered in the community by her commitment to her Alma Mater, Xavier University Preparatory High School as member and committee chair on the XUP Alumni Association Board. She has also devoted herself to her church as the ministry leader for the Special Events and Beautification Ministry at Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries. She has volunteered her time and talent to numerous organizations around the city of New Orleans for the purpose of event planning and fundraising development.
Lyrae started her career in event production when she was selected for the position of Executive Assistant to Jackie Harris, the Director of Music and Entertainment for the City of New Orleans in 1995. During her appointment as Ms. Harris’ executive assistant, Lyrae gained on the job training in all aspects of music and event productions. Various assignments, such as the Mayors Essence party at the House of Blues, Benefit Concert for the Louis “Stachmo” Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp, and meeting set up for the New Orleans Arts and Cultural Host Committee prepared her for her future as an entrepreneur and venue design specialists. Lyrae has also been on staff for various festivals such as Reggae Rhythms and the International Arts Festival both hosted in New Orleans.
Over the past six years, Lyrae has gained recognition as a premiere Wedding Consultant as well as a successful fundraising developer. Her negotiating; planning and strong interpersonal skills have been greatly enhanced through the planning of many events. While looking to her future, Lyrae plans to empower, educate and mentor young adults in the many aspects of event design and fundraising development.
